What is a balance bike?
A balance bike is a bicycle without pedals. Their purpose is to correctly teach two-wheeled balance, cornering skills and confidence that will translate successfully to riding a real two wheeled bike in the future, without ever resorting to training wheels (which are never recommended, no exceptions!)
Balance bikes are designed to allow children to learn how to balance by using their feet as stabilizers, without the complication of pedals getting in the way. Walking with their new bike advances to running, and later advances to picking their feet up off the ground and coasting on two wheels. Balance achieved!
Balance bikes are also available in larger sizes for grade school age children and for adults.
Balance bikes are also known as push bikes, starter bikes, run bikes, and weebikes, but mostly they are known for being the most fun way to learn how to balance on two wheels.
